Ivica Puljic Ivica is chief IT-Analyst and also co-founder of MontenaSoft. He currently studies civil engineering in Belgrade, but this involvement is more like a hobby to him and it helps him to satisfy his excitement for applied mathematics. His real passion is IT technology and he was involved in several hi-profile IT projects, from infrastructure to civil engineering, always mixing different technologies: C++ mixed with Java Enterprise, Python mixed with PHP platform.

  • My responsibility in MontenaSoft: I am responsible for HR in Southeast Europe, conduct (mostly) architecture proposals and (partly) project management. I am also chief technology analyst for everything around Web and chief Drupal & PHP consultant in our company. Any kind of project proposal for web technologies will probably go over my desk.
  • Favorite Tech Gadget: iPhone - the only computer, that make me troubles in life
  • Favorite websites: www.sourceforge.net , groups.drupal.org,  www.drupal.org, www.acquia.com
  • Tech skill I am most proud of: I am still learning Drupal. For the last two years this has been my favorite project. Like any other complex system, it takes while to get into it. But after that, the payback comes, and I pass on my knowledge back to the community through Drupal module patching. It is in my humble opinion by far the best Open Source Content Management System Framework that exists on this planet, and before Drupal I’ve tried quite a few.
  • When I am not in front of computer screen: There is no such time as “not being in front of computer”. But I make a break once in a while, and then I just go outside with my girlfriend and talk to my friends. I also want to improve my yoga. This is an excellent balance to everyday sitting in front of source code.
  • Piece of software that I can’t live without: Eclipse, Firefox & Firebug. Without this trio, web development would be so slow and so difficult that hardly any big-size project could ever be brought to successful end.
